INDIVIDUAL THERAPY IN BATH

Individual psychotherapy for emotional difficulties, self-understanding and relationship patterns

Individual therapy offers a safe, supportive and confidential space for people who are navigating difficult emotional circumstances, personal challenges or relationship patterns.

You may be seeking therapy because you feel anxious, overwhelmed, low, stuck, disconnected, unsure of yourself, or caught in familiar patterns that are difficult to change. Some people come to therapy for short-term support during a period of distress, while others are looking for a longer-term exploration of underlying patterns in their life, relationships and sense of self.

Therapy can offer space to slow things down, make sense of difficult thoughts and feelings, and begin to understand yourself with more clarity, compassion and honesty.

How individual therapy may help

In my practice, I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures and life experiences.

Some people come to therapy because, despite external achievements, they continue to struggle with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, low self-esteem or a sense of never feeling good enough. Others may be navigating grief, anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, stress, burnout or a major life transition.

Individual therapy can support you to explore your inner world, understand repeated patterns, strengthen your sense of self-worth, and move towards more meaningful change.

Areas I can support

Individual therapy may include work around:

  • Anxiety and panic attacks
Exploring anxiety symptoms, triggers and patterns, while developing ways to regain a greater sense of calm and steadiness.

  • Bereavement and grief
Offering compassionate support as you navigate loss, grief and the complex emotions that can follow.

  • Burnout and work-related stress
Understanding the impact of stress, over-responsibility or emotional exhaustion, and supporting healthier boundaries and recovery.

  • Career, work and life balance concerns
Exploring professional pressures, identity, fulfilment and the balance between work, relationships and personal wellbeing.

  • Depression and low mood
Providing a supportive space to explore the underlying experiences, patterns or circumstances that may be contributing to low mood.

  • Family conflict and relationship difficulties
Exploring family dynamics, communication patterns, boundaries and the emotional impact of difficult relationships.

  • Feelings of emptiness, isolation or loneliness
Making sense of disconnection, emotional distance or difficulty feeling close to others.

  • Fertility issues, miscarriage and traumatic birth experiences
Offering sensitive support around fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, traumatic birth experiences and the emotional impact of these events.

  • Relationship and marital difficulties
Exploring relational patterns, communication difficulties, intimacy, boundaries, trust and emotional connection.

  • Stress management
Developing greater understanding of stress responses and practical ways to support emotional resilience.

  • Trauma and painful past experiences
Offering a safe and supportive space to begin understanding and processing the impact of trauma or difficult past experiences.

My approach

My approach is warm, relational and collaborative.

Together, we can explore your unique experiences, strengths, difficulties and hopes for therapy. The work may involve understanding how past experiences shape current patterns, how you relate to yourself and others, and what may need attention in order for change to become possible.

Therapy is not about being told what to do. It is a process of reflection, understanding and emotional support, helping you to develop greater clarity, self-acceptance and choice in how you live and relate.
